What began in 1998 as a modest display of 15 trees has grown to become a yuletide extravaganza that has raised over $250,000 for the Chamber Children’s Fund. It is a celebration of what can happen when people work together for a greater good. The first Thursday after Thanksgiving the Exeter Town Hall becomes home to a wonderland of holiday beauty. Local businesses, organizations and individuals beautifully decorate 52 live trees for thousands to view during the “Holiday Open House.” On the night of the event, all the trees are auctioned off with the goal of raising over $25,000 to pass along to the Chamber Children’s Fund. The Festival of Trees committee appreciates the many participants who help make this event successful; decorators, underwriters, school groups, and businesses. It has truly become the kick-off for the holiday season and a tremendous community event.
This year’s Festival of Trees Silent Auction is scheduled for Thursday, December 4th from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Exeter Town Hall. There are over 50 decorated trees this year.
The Chamber Children’s Fund is a duly authorized 501c (3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of New Hampshire under the auspices of the Exeter Area Charitable Foundation that provides warm winter clothing and bedding to children in need up to the age of 18.
